Altar Guild Annual Gathering
February 16 & 17, 2005
What?
The annual gathering for Altar Guilds in The Diocese of West
Texas. This will precede The Diocese of West Texas Council, February
17, 18, and 19. 2005.
When?
February 16 & 17, 2005.
This is prior to the opening of council.
We will begin with a session on Wednesday afternoon
at 1:00 pm. There will also be a session Thursday morning prior to
the first Council session which is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.
Where?
The Altar Guild meetings will be held in the auditorium at The
South Padre Island Convention Center (Council location).
Who?
All Altar Guild members are invited. The planned program is as
follows:
- 1:00 - 5:00 pm, - Wednesday
The C's of Needlepoint - Care, Cleaning and Cures.
Bidwell Drake of BCD Designs will lead us in a session
discussing the best care of our kneelers and cushions. She asks
that we bring ailing items and problems we might have. Part of
the afternoon will be a How-to session teaching some basic
needlepoint stitches. A kit will be provided at the cost of $20
to get you started. If you have a piece you need help with, you
are encouraged to bring it with you. The kit will include
canvas, pattern, needle and thread. You should come with
scissors, magnifiers and any other supplies you think you might
need. Don't forget your glasses! Come with questions, answers to
our on going dilemmas, suggestions, or just to visit.

Our speaker is The Rev. Sherridan Harrison., Assistant Rector
St. Mark's, San Antonio. I am most certain you will enjoy her
presentation. We will follow her address to us with the usual
questions and discussions. Those of us not serving as delegates
will have all the time we need to chat!
How?
A registration form is included with this mailing for the Altar
Guild sessions. For information to apply for a visitors pass and
Council information contact your Church office The web site
will have all Council information - directions, lodging, schedule of
events, etc.
Alert!
There will be other Council events which will be of interest, but
are optional and will require the purchase of a ticket. The forms
and fees for those events should be made through YOUR church office
or by you individually as a visitor. (The exhibits are open to the
public.) Make note of deadlines for registration of those
events.

Make your arrangements through your church or on your own.
