"Welcome!" y "Bienvenidos!"

"...grant us the gift of your Spirit, that we may know Christ and make him known; and through him, at all times and in all places, may give thanks to you in all things."

Dear Clergy and the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas,

On behalf of the Good people of St. David's Episcopal Church in San Antonio I wish you a warm and sincere invitation to the 102nd Annual Diocesan Council 2006!

Join us for the work of the church, a time of fellowship as a "Diocesan-Family," to share our gratitude for the ministry of Bishop and Sandy Folts, and the Investiture of Bishop Gary R. Lillibridge as our Ninth Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas.

As host for this coming Council, St. David's issues a special invitation, to Delegates, Alternates, Guests, and Friends alike to support and celebrate our common life together through our Lord Jesus Christ. Diocesan Council convenes February 23rd through the 25th at the Municipal Auditorium in San Antonio. St. David's is honored to extend this gift of hospitality!

For those churches that elect delegates and alternates through vestry/bishop's committee, we ask you to complete this process at the December meeting and register immediately online (www.council-dwtx.org).

The hotel headquarters is the Crowne Plaza Riverwalk at 111 East Pecan Street, four blocks from the Municipal Auditorium. Crowne Plaza is also the place for the Thursday Banquet and all Friday's luncheons. In addition to the 150 rooms at the headquarters, we have a block of 50 rooms at the Hawthorn Inn and Suites behind the Municipal Auditorium plus 50 rooms at the Amerisuites closer to the Alamo Quarry and airport. Full information is available in the hotel section of the council website at www.council-dwtx.org by clicking on the "Bound for Glory" train icon.

Also, there will be a bit of a Country and Western flare at Thursday's banquet that will shape our evening of dinner, music, and fellowship following Bishop Lillibridge's investiture at First Baptist Church. You are welcome to join us in western attire!

On behalf of St. David's Church and School and the Diocese of West Texas "Welcome!" y "Bienvenidos!"

God's peace,
The Rev. James R. Murguia
St. David's Episcopal Church
