As diverse as is the Episcopal Church, General Convention can be messy, factional, and petty, but sometimes profound and always inspirational.

It is a reminder that all Episcopalians are part of "One holy, catholic, and apostolic faith," and at its best it is a small vision of God at work in His world.

The Diocese of West Texas General Convention Deputation

Each diocese in the Episcopal Church, no matter its size, is allowed up to eight deputies, four clergy and four lay.

Deputies

  • The Rev. David M. Reed
  • The Rev. David G. Read
  • The Ven. Don D. Lee
  • The Rev. Nancy Coon
  • Mr. Richard Mosty
  • Mrs. Susan Hardaway
  • Mrs. Alice Ann Fischer
  • Mr. Robert Browning

Alternate deputies

  • The Rev. James Murguia
  • The Rev. Ram Lopez
  • The Rev. John Badders
  • The Rev. Ned Bowersox
  • Mrs. Karen Lee
  • Mr. John Warren

It is likely that when the Rev. David Reed, who is our bishop suffragan-elect, is consented to by General Convention he will be invited into the House of Bishops with seat but no voice or vote. If so, the Rev. James Murguia, first alternate, moves to the position of deputy.
