They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. All the believers were together and had everything in common . . .[and] they gave to anyone as he had need. (Acts 2:42, 44-45)

Allocation Form Sample

Your church's official form, which will be available at the September workshops, must be returned to the diocesan office no later than November 1, 2006.

The Reaching Out Budget requires the input of our 91 congregations to determine allocations. Each vestry or bishop's committee will complete a budget allocation form - one per church - determining how they wish to support diocesan ministries. An example of the form for submitting those allocations - no later than November 1, 2006 - is below.

The total budget request for 2007 for The Episcopal Church and Ministries Outside the Diocese is $184,000, which is 14.83% of the Reaching Out askings and  5.15% of the total diocesan budget. Accordingly, congregations must allocate 14.83% of their Reaching Out apportionment to either 1a or 1b or a combination thereof. Congregations may not allocate any more nor any less than 14.83%.

If a congregation does NOT direct 14.83% to either The Episcopal Church or to Ministries Outside the Diocese, that amount will be sent to The Episcopal Church.

Note that your vestry/bishop's committee may elect to have the Executive Board allocate the remaining 85.17% of your church's portion, or your vestry/bishop's committee may make its allocations by applying percentages to the ministries listed on the allocation form. Your allocation (including Line #1 at 14.83%) must equal 100%.

Please note that the total of the ministries' funding requests exceeds the total funds available. It may be that if some ministries are fully funded, other ministries will, by necessity, be under-funded. No ministry will be funded more than it has requested, except as stipulated by the Executive Board. If ministries are over-funded, the Executive Board may allocate the overages to other under-funded ministries.
